Do not be worried, the following blog will help you in taking the right steps in training your pet  to get  into the crate easily without much hassle, making it pleasant and enjoyable experience for you and your pet friend.

As a pet owner, before you start crate training your pet, you need to analyze as to why you want to crate train your pet.The reasons could be any of the following:
  • To train a pet for house breaking
  • To avoid a canine from soiling the bed, scratching furniture and from spoiling other items at home.
  • To train a puppy to remain in the crate till he is taken outdoors to relieve himself.
  • As a resting place providing privacy for a furry pet.
  • While traveling outside or in a car or for safety of pets at night.
Whatever may be the reason for crate training a pet, one thing a pet owner should always keep in mind is not to make the crate training a traumatic experience for your pet. Always try to provide sufficient time to your bundle of joy to get in the crate on its own.

You can do this  by  keeping a toy or old blanket  or even a food treat inside the crate .When your furry friend tries to  inside the pet, encourage him with few words of praise .In case he  does not want to go in , you can help  by picking him up and dropping him in the crate. Once he decides to come out quickly, allow him to come out and go inside. Try calling out to him.  This can be repeated twice or thrice as a fun game to make him get familiarized with the crate.

Once a puppy gets familiarized and used to the crate. Play another game of closing the gate of the crate and opening it again. This way he will get used to gate being closed. Do this initially for a few minutes only. Try calling him to come outside. Slowly increase the time he stays inside. Also start keeping food and water inside as this will tempt him or her to go in food. You can also close the door when he is having food. If he whines, then you can keep the door .The same can be done when the canine fall asleep. If he calls out to you after waking up you open the crate and take him for a stroll or to play around.

Crate training for a pet if done in stages without frightening the pet will go a long in making it an enjoyable affair for both you and your pet. This will also ensure the safety, comfort and care of your pet at all times even in your absence.

Dog Bowls, bowls for Dogs, Pet products, pet store India, Pet accessories, online pet products, pet shop India, Indian pet shop Training your pup to eat from the food bowl is an important routine to be established by any pet owner, as a pet of any breed, whether cat or dog likes to associate itself with a routine and consistency in its daily life.

As a pet lover, it becomes more binding on you to train your pet to eat out of the bowl because in case you miss to do it at the initial years, you may have to bear with a pet which becomes finicky and pickier during meal times. Some pets may even totally refuse to eat out of the bowl altogether.

Steps to train a pet dog  to eat out of the dog bowl:

  • Initially make your pet eat out of your hand to make him realize that you are the person whom he should approach in case he is hungry. This practice can be continued for a week or a couple of days.
  • In the second week or so make him eat from a dog bowl by filling it up with food. In case your pet refuses to eat from the same, you can also feed him by lifting the bowl to his face and make him eat it. Eventually guide his snout to the food in the bowl.
  • Scattering few of the food pieces from the bowl to the floor is another technique which you can use to make your canine eat from the bowl. Show a treat in front of his nose and guide him to the bowl. Finally put the treat into the bowl and make him eat from it.
  • When your adorable pet starts eating from the bowl reward him or her with encouraging and positive statements like very good or good boy or with just a pet on his back.
  • You can also encourage your lovable pet to eat from a bowl by buying attractive dog food bowls either in ceramic, wood, plastic or stainless as per your taste and requirement from the local pet shop or from various online stores like Indian Pet Store a leading pet store in India having all the products meeting your pet’s needs.
Last but not the least, it is always better for you as a pet master to stay near your pet when it eats out of the bowl ,to ward off the fear of eating from a bowl as fear is also one of the many reasons due to which your pet may refrain from eating out of the dog bowls.

Few tips for properly feeding the puppy

Dog food, Puppy food, Dog nutrition, puppy nutrition
Puppies are too adorable and one cannot resist loving and pampering them. Puppies are in their growing stage and this is the time to properly train them, give them the right food so that there is no compromise in their health.

Feeding is very crucial in making a puppy healthy. Just feeding a good quality food is not enough, there are other considerations as well, let’s look at these.

Puppy feeding tips

Always keep fresh water available
Most people serve wet food to dog, by consuming wet food the moisture required by the dog is fulfilled hence it requires less water. However irrespective of this fact, fresh water must always be available to puppies as they will require additional water.

Do not refill half empty bowl

If the pet has not eaten its entire meal then do not keep the bowl after meal time is over. This will make it eat more than the desired quantity and it will more often require relieving itself.

Do not feed cold food

Never feed cold food to the dog taking it out directly from the fridge. The puppy/dog will be develop cold and fever, always allow the food to reach room temperature and then only feed it to the pooch.

Do not feed leftovers

The dog must never be fed leftovers from the table. This not only increases its food intake but also dis-balances the nutritional intake of the pet.

Treats

Appropriate pet care is only possible when the dog is given the right treat at the right time. For instance dental treat is not meant to be given every day and it is not a substitute for regular meal so it must not be given to the pooch on daily basis.

There are small treats which are given to the dog after it completes a training process, or spends quality time in crate but these treats must not be given every time it will spoil its diet, and health of course.

These were some basic tips that have to be considered while feeding the puppy. A puppy is no less than a child so it must be handled with right love, care and training.
